46 – 50 miles
The most confusing thing about this beautiful route is the fact that there are so many different names for the same road. It is called the “Ashton/Flagg Ranch Road”, or “Grass Lake Road”, or “Flagg Ranch Road”, or “Reclamation Road”. It is also part of Adventure Cycling’s infamous “Great Divide Mountain Bike Route”.

What ever the name you want to use this is a beautiful dirt road between Flagg Ranch, Wyoming, on the east side of the northern Tetons, to Ashton, Idaho and the Warm River Campground and the rail trail on the west side. There are some nice free campgrounds with picnic tables and outhouses on the east end near Flagg Ranch. Huckleberry Hot Springs is also near by for some non-commercial soaking.
It is a low spot in the mountains with Yellowstone NP to the north and Grand Teton NP to the south so the pass is not that high and is a pretty easy grind up in either direction. With that said it is pretty wild place and beautiful place with black bear, grizzly bear, moose, elk, and wolves.
